Top Dog and Big Dog Express Meal Plans

Top Dog Express

This plan can be purchased in blocks of 10, 25, 50, or 75 meals. The more meals you purchase the less you pay per meal. This plan can be used in any Residence Hall dining center (Douglass Houghton Hall, Wadsworth Hall, or McNair Hall all-you-care-to-eat buffet style meals).

  • 75 meals - $498
  • 50 meals - $337
  • 25 meals - $171
  • 10 meals - $100

Once your top dog express account is activated, it remains open and rolls over from year to year. There will be no need to reopen your account in the fall when you return to school after summer break. Any remaining balance will still be there. Account balances are transferred from semester to semester, year to year, even if you take the summer off.

The Top Dog express meal plan can be activated by contacting the Tech express service center in the Campus Bookstore in the Memorial Union during normal business hours. Or by sending a check payable to Michigan Technological University to Tech Express service center, 1503 Townsend Drive, Houghton, MI 49931.

Big Dog Express

This plan is designed for use in our retail operations (the Memorial Union Food Cort, Corner Store, Aftermath Café, Campus Café selected vending machines, Husky Grill, Portage Lake Golf Course Par & Grill). The Big Dog express account works like a debit account: you debit money into this account, and depending on how much you deposit, we will add an extra percentage for your use. For example:

  • Deposit $25 - $99.99, and we'll add 3%
  • Deposit $100 - $199.99, and we'll add 4%
  • Deposit $200 or more, and we'll add 5%
